“Sarah helped us train our energetic collie/lab puppy Tui. She has an incredible breadth of knowledge and wisdom which she passed on to us. Tui is a handful, but such a smart girl and without Sarah’s guidance I don’t think we could have successfully helped Tui learn the ways of the world so well. Sarah showed us that our first puppy journey can be such a positive and enjoyable one.”

This 65 page ebook contains all the essential information you need to compassionately raise a puppy to be a wonderful companion. In it you’ll find four sections:

#1 - Reality check - is this normal? If you’ve never had a puppy before this short section will give you some insight into what to expect.

#2 - Tools and strategies to make those first few days plain sailing.  Bringing a pup into your life is a huge change (for both you and your puppy) and getting those first few days right can make all the difference to your success – and stress levels! Section #2 will get you both started on the right path.

#3 - Developing an emotionally stable dog.  If you want a well-balanced, happy dog you need to teach them that the world is a safe place and certain experiences are totally normal and even enjoyable. This section will help you do just that.

This section includes a short introductory guide to canine body language so you can understand what your puppy is telling you.  This means that you’ll be able to safeguard your pup’s emotional well-being because you’ll be able to ‘read’ how they’re feeling.

#4 - Basic life skills every dog needs to know.  No matter what you’re planning for your dog, be it couch potato or agility superstar, there are some life skills your pup needs to learn.  I’ve included the ones that are best introduced early BEFORE bad habits have taken root. Puppy training is best if it’s frequent, short and sweet.  Use section #4 to guide your sessions to get the most ‘bang’ for your training ‘buck’.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

This ebook isn’t about telling your puppy off!  Puppies will do what puppies do so the best way to make sure your puppy doesn’t do things you’d rather they didn’t is by limiting their opportunities to make poor choices.  This ebook will show you how to do that kindly and thoughtfully, without having to use force or punishment.

The information in the Pain Free Puppy Raising ebook will help you provide a safe, consistent and structured environment for your puppy.  This in itself can lead to improved emotional regulation, which might result in some reduction of emotionally driven behaviour problems. The book will also help you read your puppy’s body language so you can make sure that their experiences are positive ones.
However, the book isn’t designed to ‘fix’ these deep-rooted problems or the behaviours they cause.  If your puppy experiences abnormal emotional reactions the best thing you can do is contact a qualified behavioural trainer and work with them in person.
Puppies rarely ‘grow out of’ emotional issues so the sooner you can get in person guidance, the easier it will be to help your pup develop better coping strategies and feel more secure in their world.

Most people will see improvements within a day or so of implementing the strategies and training in this ebook.  However, the time it takes to reach the outcomes you want will depend on how well you follow the recommendations and where you’re starting from.   A young puppy will be easier to guide than an older one that already has a history of practicing unwanted behaviours.
